The CDROM that comes with the third edition of Patterson and
Hennessey has a tutorial on VHDL. The path is
/Content/Tutorials/VHDL/vhdl-tutorial.pdf. Another VHDL Tutorial

The QUARTUS Similator (for VHDL) can be downloaded free from Altera.
You must fill out an online form to get a license file that will be
emailed to you. You should answer all questions about use as "School
Project" and check "None" above the matrix of other tools that will be
used, else some QUARTUS functions you need will not be activated.
The single-phase MIPS VHDL model can be obtained at "32-bit MIPS VHDL Model," and also get the Instructions.
You may bring one 8.5"x11" piece of paper with your own handwritten notes to Quizzes and the Exam, plus the sheets used for previous Quizzes. Also pen, pencil, amd a simple calculator.

My office is at the south-east corner of the fifth (top) floor of the GCATT Building. Ride the GCATT Stinger to the GCATT Building, or walk north on Atlantic to 14th St, then east to the GCATT Building. Visitors are welcome in the GCATT Parking Deck (use the intercom to ask the front desk to raise the gate).
Take the elevator to the fifth floor. Turn right, then immediate left. Go to last office on the left, Room 579 (SE corner). If I'm not in, check my location with someone in 578, 586, or the GCATT Receptionist (NE corner, fifth floor).
