It is with great sadness that we share with you that our dear friend and colleague, George Riley, died on June 20, 2018 after a courageous battle with brain cancer.

Mukhopadhyay Appointed as Pettit Professor

Saibal Mukhopadhyay has been appointed to the Joseph M. Pettit Professorship, effective May 1, 2018.

To teach the importance of hand washing, Tech students put “glo germ” lotion on a beach ball and let a group of Vietnamese children pass around the ball. By touching the ball, the children got invisible gel or “germs” on their hands, which they could only see under the black flashlight. After the children washed the germs from their hands, Tech students used the black light to show them what clean hands look like.

Students Volunteer Globally for Summer Break

Tech students recently worked on international service projects including: treating children in a mobile clinic in Vietnam, building a clinic in Belize, and conducting an energy and clean water needs assessment in Kenya.
