The women who walk the halls of Van Leer are incredibly diverse in backgrounds, tastes, and motivations for pursuing their chosen fields. I learned most from them how to listen without filters, to be patient and persistent, and that communication is about much more than what comes out of your mouth.

Georgia Tech taught me what it meant to be an engineer. WECE helped me stay true to my major when I was the only girl in a class. I would not change my experiences in Tech for anything and I am happy to have joined WECE since day one and help move it forward into a stronger organization that other women can benefit from.

ECE at Tech is challenging and covers many topics. Having a strong ECE foundation has allowed me to be a more versatile engineer.

Being a part of WECE was a phenomenal experience. Having been the VP, I was required to do quite a bit of program management which adequately prepared me for my role as a government contractor.

The most important thing I learned at Georgia Tech was how to learn. How to break down a problem, how to find resources to help, and the persistence to keep at it - these are all skills I use everyday at work. The challenging ECE curriculum and the professors definitely played a big role in reinforcing these skills!

Mehak Dinesh

Pursuing MS in Electrical Engineering

My ECE/WECE position was one of my best experiences at Georgia Tech and it has come a long way in helping me out with my job and grad school applications. Being a part of WECE allowed me to meet Alumni in Industry, fellow students in ECE, and network with professors from the ECE department. Through these interactions, I was able to better understand my own goals and define the best ways to achieve them. WECE also provided me a way to interact with other Women in ECE and I am still in touch with some of them. It was a great organization for meeting all the fellow female students and adding a splash of pink to the normally very grey social life at Georgia Tech!

Anita Chow

As one of the founding members of WECE, I used my experience from starting WECE to start another organization for women at Hitachi Consulting in Atlanta.

Georgia Tech's ECE program has some of the best signal processing professors in the world and the things I learned from them have helped me out with the signal processing problems and tasks that I have faced since graduation. My experience as one of the co-founders of WECE has helped me out in my new post-graduation roles as an officer in both the Tucson professional section of the Society of Women Engineers and in the Arizona Georgia Tech Club.
