Professor Peterson's current research interests include electromagnetic scattering, radar cross section, microwave devices, antennas, and the application of computational techniques to electromagnetics. Of particular interest is the use of procedures such as the method of moments and the finite element method to model complex devices. One goal of this research is to improve the accuracy and efficiency of the traditional models in order to greatly expand the range of structures that can be treated. Recent work includes the development of novel extensions of the finite element method.
