Biography
Mr. Wang received his B.S. (1998) and M.S. (2001) from the
Department of Precision Instruments and Tsinghua University (Beijing, China), respectively.
He moved to the United States in 2001 and received his M.S.E.E. from the University of
Colorado, Boulder in 2003. Then he enrolled in the Ph.D. program of the School of
Electrical and Computer Engineering, Georgia Institute of Technology.
His M.S. research was focused on the design and demonstration of
large volume holographic data storage system using Fe:LiNbO3 crystals. He joined
the Photonics Research Group to study chip-to-chip optical interconnection after he came to
Georgia Institute of Technology.
Mr. Wang's current research projects include chip-to-chip optical
interconnection, involving free space optical interconnects, substrate-mode guided-wave
optical Interconnects, thin film guided-wave optical interconnects, and the design and
fabrication of surface-relief grating couplers and volume grating couplers; as well as
holographic data storage
