Biography

Dr. Yegnanarayanan received his B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering in 1993 from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras. Following his Ph.D. in 1999 from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) in Electrical Engineering, with a specialization in Photonics, he worked as a Research Scientist at Alcatel Corporate Research Center, Dallas on Optical Packet Switching. He was one of the initial Optical Engineers of Cognet Microsystems, a startup in Los Angeles, where he directed their Integrated Optics and Advanced Optical Packaging activity. Following the acquisition of Cognet Microsystems by Intel Corporation in 2001, Siva joined Intel's Optical Components Division, where he was a key contributor to the design of several 10 Gb/s transmitter and receiver products and received two Intel Divisional Recognition Awards.

Dr. Yegnanarayanan is currently a post-doctoral fellow in the Photonics Research Group at Georgia Institute of Technology, where he is working on Silicon Nanophotonics.
