Biography
Mr. Luo received his B.S.E.E. (2001) and M.S.E.E. (2004) from
Tsinghua University (Beijing, China). His undergraduate research project is related to the
fabrication techinque for fiber acousto-optic null taper couplers, based on which a novel
composite ring resonator was designed. He spent the next years in the State Key Laboratory
of Integrated Optoelectronics (Tsinghua Branch), while he was awarded for Outstanding
Thesis with the work on the refractive properties of photonic crystals. He participated in
internships at the Key Laboratory of High Intensity Optics, Shanghai Institute of Optics
and Fine Mechanics and Human-Computer Interface group, Microsoft Research Asia, during the
periods of his undergraduate and graduate studies, respectively.
Mr. Luo moved to the United States in 2004, and started his PhD
program in Electrical Engineering, Georgia Institute of Technology. His current research
focuses on the light scattering techniques with biomedical applications.
