Biography

Dr. Jiandong Huang received his B.S. in Applied Physics in 1993 and M.S. in Optics in 1996 both from Shanghai Jiaotong University. He received his Ph.D in Physics in 2000 from the University of Utah. His Ph.D research focused on photonic crystals and photo-physics of semiconductor conducting polymers.

He joined JDS Uniphase Corp. as a Sr. Engineer in 2000 and was actively involved in many areas of fiber optics communication industry. He played a key role in design and integration of optical transmission demo systems, which were huge successes at the OFC 2001 and 2002 shows and received a CEO award in 2002.

Dr. Huang is currently a Postdoctoral fellow in the Photonics Research Group of the Georgia Institute of Technology.
