Biography

Mr. Hsieh came from Taiwan, Republic of China. He received his B.S. from Department of Electrophysics, National Chiao Tung University (Hsinchu, ROC) in 1997, and received his M.S. from Institute of Electro-Optical Engineering, National Chiao Tung University (Hsinchu, ROC) in 1999. After two years military service as a personnel officer, he came back to Institute of Electro-Optical Engineering, National Chiao Tung University (Hsinchu, ROC), and worked as a research assistant during 2001-2002. He moved to the United States in 2002, and enrolled in Ph.D. program of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Georgia Institute of Technology.

His M.S. research was related to thermal fixing of volume holograms in Fe:LiNbO3 crystals. He joined the photonics group and focused on the Biosensor application using volume holograms after he came to Georgia Institute of Technology. He is also interested in photonic crystals and optical computing and interconnects.
