Biography

Farshid Ghasemi received his B.S. and M.S. in Electrical Engineering (Microwave and Optical Communications) from the Sharif University of Technology, Tehran, in 2007 and 2008, respectively. His M.S. thesis, under the supervision of Dr. Mehrany, focused on basis function optimization of the Method of Moments (MoM) technique for optical applications. He joined the Photonics Research Group at the Georgia Institute of Technology under the supervision of Professor Ali Adibi in July 2009. In 2001, he won the bronze medal in the National Mathematics Olympiad of Iran. In 2003, he was the recipient of the silver medal in the International Physics Olympiad (IPhO) in Taipei, Taiwan.
