Biography

Ali Behrooz graduated with a BS in Electrical Engineering from Sharif University of Technology in Tehran, Iran in July 2007. He was ranked 2nd among around 400,000 participants in the math/physics group in the nationwide university entrance examination in July 2003. His BS thesis work focused on designing the collimating and focusing lens configurations for the optical transmitter and receiver of a free space optical link setup under the supervision of Professor Jawad Salehi at Optical Networks Research Laboratory. He joined Photonics Research Group at Georgia Institute of Technology in January 2008 as a PhD student. His primary field of research in this group is optical biomedical and biological imaging and spectroscopy techniques.
