Ultrafast Optical

Communications Group

Purpose
The efforts of the Georgia Tech Ultrafast Optical Communications Group are dedicated to the design, fabrication, and implementation of devices and subsystems for single-wavelength optical data transmission at rates exceeding 100 Gb/s.

Facilities
The Ultrafast Optical Communications Group occupies two laboratories in the Electrical and Computer Engineering department at Georgia Tech: the Ultrafast Optical Communication lab in the Joseph M. Pettit Microelectronics Research Center (MiRC), and the Ultrafast Optics lab in the Van Leer building.  The group also relies heavily on the clean room fabrication facilities in the MiRC.
