Dr. Akyildiz received ACM MSWIM Reginald A. Fassenden Award with the citation: "For pioneering contributions for modeling and analysis of cellular and multihop wireless communication systems", September 2014.
Dr. Akyildiz received Humboldt Research Prize from Humboldt Foundation in Germany, November 2013. Dr. Akyildiz will be conducting research on TeraHertzBand with the University of Erlangen-Nurnberg, Department of Digital Communication, Germany, within the next three years.
Congratulations to the newest PhD from the BWN-Lab, Dr. Ravikumar Balakrishnan! He defended his thesis entitled "Handover Management in Heterogeneous Networks for 4G and Beyond Cellular Systems" on March 4, and joins Intel Corporation in Hillsboro, Oregon, as Research Scientist on March 16, 2015.
