Membership
Membership Options
Basic GTAC membership starts at $20,000 per year and includes access to our students, faculty, and research at large. For $35,000 per year, in addition to basic membership, a graduate student fellowship is established in the company's name to support a research project of mutual interest. A company may support more students at a rate of $20,000 per year per student. Another option is for companies and agencies to become basic members by supporting GTAC research directly through formal contractual agreements and/or by donating equipment and its maintenance support. This last option is considered on a case-by-case basis.
For specific membership information, please contact the Project Coordinator, DeeDee Bennett or any of the faculty members.

Benefits and IP Issues:Benefits of a GTAC Membership
- Usually, GTAC students form a permanent full-time relationship with industry members.
-
GTAC students normally work co-op terms with their sponsoring companies, if opportunities exist (a student must be willing to co-op with a sponsor company, if the opportunity is available and compatible with the student's program).
-
Participating companies have the opportunity to identify industry Mentor(s) to work with the sponsored student(s) for technical feedback and general guidance.
-
Participating companies also have the opportunity to address our students (GTAC and ECE students, in general) directly through seminars and Career Day activities.
-
Participatin gcompanies have access to an array of research generated generally by the program (over 15 faculty members and 80 graduate students).
-
Participating companies have the opportunity to interact and develop relationships with all GTAC faculty, many of whom do short courses and seminars in various areas of research.
-
GTAC posts job listings and/or co-op opportunities for participating members within the analog student population (GTAC and ECE)
- By working with a student, a sponsor company also has the opportunity to help shape the research conducted at Georgia Tech
Intellectual Property (IP)
Technically, the sponsorhip provided is a "gift" ("grant"), which has no deliverables attached, nor does it offer any Intellectual Property (IP) protection. It is because of this fact that funds can be maximized for research and student support, having minimal overhead. For Intellectual Property protection, industry can either hire the sponsored student for a co-op period, where IP generated by the student during that time is owned by the company, or by engaging in a contractual agreement, which requires addtional funds to conform to the overhead associated with contracted research.
