Biography

Justin Romberg attended Rice University, where he received the BS (1997), MS (1999), and PhD (2003) degrees in electrical engineering. His graduate work centered on multiscale geometrical models for image processing. In fall of 2003, he joined the Applied and Computational Mathematics Department at Caltech, where he worked on the theoretical foundations of compressive sampling. He spent the fall of 2004 as a Fellow at UCLA's Institute for Pure and Applied Mathematics. In the fall of 2006, he joined the faculty at Georgia Tech. Dr. Romberg is also a consultant for the TV show "Numb3rs".
