Program Sponsors
Since 2002, Intel Corporation has partnered with Georgia Tech to sponsor the Intel Opportunity Research Scholars Program in both the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering and the College of Computing. Originally conceived as a retention program for underrepresented minority and female students, the scope of Intel’s support has broadened to include students from all demographic backgrounds to promote high academic achievement and graduate school attendance.
Rockwell Collins, Inc joined the Opportunity Research Scholars Program in 2006 as a partner with the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering. The kickoff for the Rockwell Collins Opportunity Research Scholars was held in October 2007 in conjunction with the James R. Carreker Distinguished Lecture, which featured Nan Mattai, senior vice president of technology and engineering at Rockwell Collins, Inc. as guest speaker.
