M.S. and Ph.D. Degree Petition Materials

Beginning with degree petitions for Fall 2009 graduation, M.S. and Ph.D. degree petition materials are due in the ECE Graduate Affairs Office on the following schedule:

• Fall Petitions Due in ECE on JUNE 1
  * ECE submits to Registrar by June 15
• Spring Petitions Due in ECE on OCTOBER 1
  * ECE submits to Registrar by October 15
• Summer Petitions Due in ECE on MARCH 1
  * ECE submits to Registrar by March 15

* If the 1st falls on a weekend, degree petitions will be accepted on the Monday immediately following.

1. Download and complete Graduate Petition for Degree from the Registrar's Office (PDF)
   Note: This form should be printed in landscape (horizontally).
2. Complete ECE-specific graduation forms:
   • M.S. and Ph.D. Graduation Information (PDF: 186 kb)
   • ECE Classes by TIA (for M.S. degrees only) (PDF; 14 kb - updated October 13, 2008)
   • M.S. Degree Petition Checklist (PDF; 89 kb; updated June 2, 2008) or Ph.D. Degree Petition Checklist (PDF: 85 kb; updated June 2, 2008)
3. Students who have completed all degree requirements prior to the graduation term (including distance learning students) and wish to use the enrollment waiver in the graduate term should complete and submit the enrollment waiver request form downloaded from:
   http://www.grad.gatech.edu/thesis/forms.html
4. Obtain the Exit Survey from the ECE Academic Affairs Office.
5. Complete the exit survey and submit it with the degree petition materials
