As the remote access page above states, if they are trying to connect to the ECE linux servers when they are not on the ECE network, they will need to connect to the vpn first: http://anyc.vpn.gatech.edu

The machines must be accessed via sftp or ssh. More information about software available for Windows which support ssh/sftp are located on the Remote Access web page above. Here is an example using WinSCP. Remember to change directories directly to your target subdirectory instead of incrementally.

You are required to protect your web site directories by requiring a Georgia Tech login. To do this, create and place in your directories a file named .htaccess (yes, the first character is a dot) containing the following text:

Deliverables Posting

All deliverables should be posted in your group's base directory with the file names and formats given in the example. Save .doc and .ppt files in versions no later than 2003. Otherwise, you are welcome to embellish as you wish as long as a static copy of your web space renders readable pages on all contemporary browsers if hosted from a Linux, UNIX, or Windows server and with filenames which will not cause problems if swapped between Linux, UNIX, and Windows hosts.

Path and URL to Your Group's Base Directory

Listed for each section is the Web Master's ECE UNIX login and target directory path suffix.

For Example for ECE4007L01, the ws1 group's Web Master should log into his ECE UNIX account then change directories directly to

/home/www/academic/courses/ece4007/13spring/ECE4007L01/ws1

When posted, the group's home page should be in a file named index.html and should be viewable at

www.ece.gatech.edu/academic/courses/ece4007/13spring/ECE4007L01/ws1/

An error message should be rendered until you actually post an index.html file.
