LCD Display

The goal was to connect a simple device (LCD Display) to the ISA bus and provide access to user-level applications. The design method utilized was the prototyping design process. The prototyping design process features an iterative cycle where specifications are set, prototypes are developed, and finally evaluated. Three cycles of the process were required to complete the design.

The first phase was interfacing the bus with the LCD display implemented with VHDL and the Altera Card (to learn more click here).

 

The second phase was developing a library to provide user-level applications to access the device (to learn more click here).

 

Finally, the sample user-level application was created with C++ (to learn more click here).
