INSTALLING YOUR LICENSE
Your license.dat file is attached to this e-mail as a text file. Altera recommends that you save the file into the c:\mp2student directory for PCs (create this directory if it does not exist).
Refer to the MAX+PLUS II read.me file to set up MAX+PLUS II licensing.
If you are unable to receive e-mail attachments, follow the instructions below to create your license.dat file:
1. Create a text file named license.dat using a text editor. Some editors may save an additional extension when you save the file (e.g., Microsoft Word may add the extension .doc). You should verify the filename at a DOS or command prompt to make sure that is correct.
2. Highlight or select the FEATURE lines and then type (CTRL+C) to copy the licensing information, which is specific to your system, and paste it into your license.dat file. You can view a sample license.dat file at http://www.altera.com/gif.lib/tools/9_23student_license_dat.gif.
3. Create a directory in which to store your license.dat file. Altera recommends you create the directory c:\mp2student for PCs. Save the license.dat file to your c:\mp2student directory.
Refer to the MAX+PLUS II Student Edition read.me file to set up MAX+PLUS II licensing.
